Optimising cladding material use

Specialists tasked with drawing up structural designs for ventilated façades frequently have to work with architectural designs that are drawn up with no consideration for the dimensions of the cladding elements. Such inefficient use of cladding material produces many unusable cut-offs, with cladding waste sometimes amounting to as much as 25-30% of all purchased cladding material or even more. If we see that cladding material is not being used effectively, we propose certain corrections or design a more rational solution with the approval of the client and their architects. This involves optimising and accurately calculating the necessary quantity of cladding material and preparing technical drawings that indicate the location of each cladding element (whole or cut) on the façade. Optimising cladding material use allows a considerable reduction in costs.

If necessary, we can provide technical drawings with each piece of cladding material mapped out on the façade with an illustration of how each element should be cut.

Example of optimised cladding on a ventilated façade:

Optimum panel cutting scheme (five panels will need to be cut based on this scheme for the illustrated reconstruction project):

This drawing of elevation 1-13 indicates the panel type and number of each piece of panel. The location of each element of cladding material, whole or cut, is specified on the façade:

We provide analogous information for the structural part of the ventilated façade, presenting technical drawings where each piece of profile is marked on the façade and a diagram for cutting each profile so that waste is kept to a minimum. We also provide a list of profile items.
